Check Your Sponsor — Document Review & Tracking Platform
A full-stack platform by Makezaa Studio for original PDF submission, hosted checkout, staff-operated document review, private tracking and report delivery.
Project Overview
Check Your Sponsor is a full-stack web platform developed by Makezaa Studio for an independent UK sponsorship-document review service. It brings together original PDF submission, package selection, hosted payment, staff-operated review and private progress tracking in one coherent customer journey.
The design uses a restrained white, charcoal and emerald visual system, clear typography and a guided submission flow. Customers can begin without creating an account, while staff use a separate authenticated workspace.

The Customer Journey
- Submit an original PDF: a guided interface accepts a sponsorship-related document and keeps the original file separate from generated reports.
- Provide details and select a package: the workflow collects contact information and presents the selected review scope before checkout.
- Use hosted checkout: payment integrations redirect customers to the provider; payment status is reconciled through the backend rather than assumed from a browser return.
- Follow a manual review: customers use a private tracking link for progress, clarification requests and report availability.
- Receive the outcome: the platform supports email notifications and authorised report downloads.

Key Implementation Features
- Original-file integrity: the documented upload implementation preserves PDF bytes and records SHA-256 integrity metadata. File preservation is separate from judging document authenticity.
- Private tracking: a token-based tracking interface provides access to an individual request without a customer account.
- Role-based staff workflows: the application includes submission search, assignment, internal notes, status management and report publication, with distinct moderator, administrator and super-administrator permissions.
- Payment-aware workflow: hosted PayPal and card-checkout integrations are implemented, with backend confirmation and recovery handling. Provider availability depends on deployment configuration.
- Editorial tools: staff can prepare and publish guidance articles, while public blog pages use server rendering.
- Responsive presentation: guided steps, clear package cards and concise calls to action support the customer-facing experience.

Technical Architecture
The frontend uses Next.js, React and TypeScript with Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion. A separate Node.js/Express API handles the business workflow, while Supabase provides staff authentication, PostgreSQL data storage and private document storage. Supporting integrations include hosted payments, email delivery and PDF report generation.
This separation keeps the public interface focused on submission and tracking while the backend handles authorisation, payment confirmation and document access. The public portfolio describes the implemented product at a high level; source repositories remain private.
Scope and Verification
The live homepage, package catalogue, original-PDF upload interface and public tracking screen were inspected for this portfolio entry. Payment settlement, customer email delivery and a complete private staff review were not executed during this presentation check.
The service is an independent, human-operated document review, with no Home Office or UKVI affiliation. It is not an automated AI authenticity scanner, an official certificate service or a visa guarantee. The interface explains the limits of PDF metadata and public sponsor-register checks.
